Pastor Jim Bickel's Spring Time Message:
Looking at the grass and trees in winter would make one wonder if there is any hope of life in them at all. But sure enough, as soon as the weather warms and spring arrives, the first signs of life begin to appear. This principle in nature illustrates a spiritual truth. That is, that life springs out of death. In fact, Jesus speaking of His own death said, "…Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit (John 12:24)." The message of the entire Bible is this–out of death, life comes! You see it demonstrated from Genesis to Revelation. Sarah's womb was "dead" but out of it comes life in the form of a son named Isaac. Jesus lays down His life as the sacrifice for our sin. With His rising again, the believer is passed from death to life. When Jesus finds us, we are "dead in trespasses and sins." The spiritual life Jesus gives rivals any power in the universe. (Ephesians 1:20). Don't be afraid to be identified with Jesus in His death; because only then will you be to partake of His resurrection Life.
